Sweet Return for Sugar Shane!

Published by R at 9:55 am under Fights Edit This

Sugar Shane Mosley produced a great performance and scored a dramatic knock-out to become WBA Welterweight Champion, against Antonio Margarito in Los Angeles’ Staples Centre last night.

Under new trainer Nazim Richardson, Mosley was on top from the first bell and never let up on the Mexican. Mosley’s overhand right was the killer shot, which Mosley seemed able to land at will.

Mosley’s boxing skills, hand speed and solid chin overwhelmed Margarito, in even more emphatic fashion than Margarito beat Cotto in 2008.

Margarito was never given the opportunity to settle and seemed ineffective in attack and had no defense against a punch perfect Sugar, whose hand speed dominated the Mexican throughout.

Margarito took a lot of shots over the course of the fight and even stopped smiling after the fifth round as he must have known his title was slipping from him.

Next for Mosley could be a rematch against Cotto, and as for Margarito, he will again have to try to re-establish himself again at Welterweight after a demolition at the hands of Mosley.

A truly sweet performance from Sugar!
